LYRICS
I keep on rocking
Can’t see you frolicking
I keep on talking
Can’t hear you listening
I keep on knocking
But you’re not answering
Is there anyone at home?
I keep on knocking
But you leave me standing all alone

2) If a tree falls in the forest
And you’re the closest
Do you turn a deaf ear
To be clear: do you hear?
Is there anyone at home?
I keep on knocking
But you leave me standing all alone

3) If Little Bo Peep lost her sheep
Would you bother to wake from sleep
River runs deep…. is faith the leap
Pray to God my soul to keep
Is there anyone at home?
I keep on knocking
But you leave me standing all alone

ABOUT THE SONG
The song was inspired by the dancing kids (one dressed like Little Bo Peep) that were listening to me write this song… as their parents appeared to be in their own little worlds. A five-year-old girl even made a point of showing me how her doll dances, but her parents couldn’t seem to hear the music. Moral of the story: “Don’t grow old. Listen to the music. Dance and jump about!” Written between the corners of Market, High, Gay and Church Streets in Chester County, West Chester, PA — Gay Church.
