[Intro]
(The crowd chants:)
Fire Ants!
[Verse 1]
Is that right
(Taking a bite)
Arching body
(An ant-ibody)
[Chorus]
Are there fire ants
(In his pants)
Sure is irritating
(And frustrating)
[Bridge]
There’s no negotiating
(The crowd chants:)
Fire Ants!
[Verse 2]
Injecting venom
(Infecting… then some)
Burning pain
(Will drive you insane)
[Chorus]
Are there fire ants
(In his pants)
Sure is irritating
(And frustrating)
[Bridge]
There’s no negotiating
(The crowd chants:)
Fire Ants!
[Chorus]
Are there fire ants
(In his pants)
Sure is irritating
(And frustrating)
[Outro]
There’s no negotiating
(Another con by Don)
When will the light dawn
(The crowd chants:)
Fire Ants!
(Are you glad you were had)
Ohh, so sad
(A great loss at a great cost)
ABOUT THE SONG
Fire ants sting by first biting with their mandibles to latch onto a surface, then arching their bodies to inject venom with their stingers, which are modified ovipositors. The venom, a mix of alkaloids and proteins, causes a burning sensation, pain, and eventually sterile pustules. Ants often sting multiple times, creating a circular pattern of welts on the skin.
