LYRICS
It’s the law of diminishing returns
It’s quite possible to have had too much
The trick-of-the-matter… knowin’ when it burns
Churn evil n’ hatred and the brimstone such

When you’ve had too much water
… they call it drownin’
When you’re too much the doddler
… then you’re the glutton

When you’e had too much food
… they call you fat pig
When you’ve had too much blood
… the fat cat’s where you’re at

Diminishing returns
He get what he earns
We learn…
We get what we earn

LYRICS
So glad. So glad.
Can’t you get over being mad
Maybe you’re not lazy
… just can’t get over being crazy
So sad. So sad.

So glad. So glad.
Thank God for the life I’ve had
Suppose if you’re crazy
… better off picking daisies
Get glad. Get glad.
Pluck a daisy
She loves me
She loves me not
She loves me
… loves me a lot

LYRICS
When it comes to you
You’ll know what to do

When the levee breaks sure won’t be so dry
Still… there is no room upon the hill… still
Can’t just give up and die… we gotta try

To live on up to our fantasy
Turn the dream into reality

Crying won’t help… praying won’t do ya know good
Head explodes with dark forebodings thoughts… you, too?
At your time of action, you could… you should… hoping we would

“The Maid Freed from the Gallows” is one of many titles of a centuries-old folk song about a condemned maiden pleading for someone to buy her freedom from the executioner. It was recorded in 1939 as “The Gallis Pole” by folk singer Huddie “Lead Belly” Ledbetter, but the most famous version was the 1970 arrangement of the Fred Gerlach version by English rock band Led Zeppelin, which was titled “Gallows Pole” on the album Led Zeppelin III.

G
Spent my days with a woman unkind,
                                   D
Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine.
Made up my mind to make a new start,
Going to California with an aching in my heart.
Someone told me there's a girl out there
With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair.

F G D x 2

G
Took my chances on a big jet plane,
                                                                              D
Never let them tell you that they're all the same.
The sea was red and the sky was grey,
Wondered how tomorrow could ever follow today.
The mountains and the canyons started to tremble and shake
As the children of the sun began to awake.

Dm
Seems that the wrath of the gods
Got a punch on the nose and it started to flow;
                     A7 A
I think I might be sinking.
Dm
Throw me a line if I reach it in time
Ill meet you up there where the path
                  A7 A
Runs straight and high.

G
To find a queen without a king;
                                                                             D
They say she plays guitar and cries as she sings.
Ride a white mare in the footsteps of dawn
Tryin' to find a woman who's never, never, never been born.
Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
Telling myself its not as hard, hard, hard as it seems.

Did the sun go up and down
Or are we spinin’ ’round n’ ’round?

Simplicity of relativity
Once in position to see

Am I under the sun
AM I under the gun
Am I over it yet
How could I ever forget?

LYRICS
Hey, well, ya wanted to know
Hey, well, ya wanted to know
So…
Do tell I did
My guts spilled… spilt
Who’ll do your bid
Don’t let it wilt
Put it to bed
From build to built

Hey, well, ya wanted to know
Hey, well, so here I go
So…
Parted my lips
Let the words spill… ’till
Meaning’s more than blips
Who’ll pay your bill
Meaning come to grips
Prophecy fulfill

I guess we’ve gotta go
Against the river’s flow
The settlers have settled on a settlement

Chorus
By settlement I mean they’re mean
From the genocide we must hide
Hide in Her spirit’s hide

Chorus

They’ll cut us down you know
Bullet versus bow
What are they thinkin’ over the color of skin?

Chorus

Since we wouldn’t behave
As their slave
Over our land… their rag… their flag
