About the Reign

I asked Sidd:
Is there a limiting factor to the size of raindrops… that will prevent them from becoming lethal?
“Availability of water vapor and intensity of updrafts within a cloud determine the size of a raindrop. Larger drops tend to result from the vigorous updrafts within a thunderstorm and fall faster than smaller drops.”
Sidd replied:
dunno,
but if it freezes, yes, it can kill you.
i imagine around a centimeter is about as big as raindrops can get …
would break up bigger than that for sure. i imagine there are studies somewhere
… never heard of raindrops killing anyone, but hail, yes.

LYRICS
About the reign of rain
We can train to sustain
Remain
As for the strain of rain
Use our brain to maintain
Remain
But you know
When the temperature’s low
The laws of physics please
Use to flow
Now won’t go
Sure did turn solid
Cause you know
When the temperature’s low
Liquid tends to freeze
What a shock
Feels like a rock
Sure did turn solid
Hell, the rain won’t kill
But, the hail will

2. Though rain’s reign goes on
You know it won’t last long
Till hail raises hell
How much longer is hard to tell
(chorus)
