[Intro, Space]
From here to Mars…
(and, back again?)
Don’t know if I wanna….
(Go, oh, no, no)
[Break]
Can You Hear on Mars?
[Bridge]
Far’s too far
(To end from begin)
No, I’d rather not…
(Go, oh, woe, woe)
[Verse]
From fears of tears
(And, then again)
Come through years
(To arrive here)
Hear?
[Bridge]
From here to Mars…
(and, back again?)
Don’t know if I wanna….
(Go, oh, no, no)
[Chorus]
Far’s too far
(To end from begin)
No, I’d rather not…
(Go, oh, woah, woah)
[Verse]
From fears of tears
(And, then again)
Come through years
(To arrive here)
Hear?
[Bridge]
From here to Mars…
(and, back again?)
Don’t know if I wanna….
(Go, oh, no, no)
[Chorus]
Far’s too far
(To end from begin)
No, I’d rather not…
(Go, oh, woah, woah)
[Outro]
Better off by far
Being where you are
A SCIENCE NOTE
Yes, it’s possible to hear on Mars, but sound behaves differently due to the planet’s thin atmosphere, which is primarily carbon dioxide. Since Mars’ atmosphere is only about 1% as dense as Earth’s, sound waves travel less efficiently. As a result, sounds are much quieter, lower in pitch, and take longer to reach your ears. NASA’s Perseverance rover has recorded Martian sounds, showing this effect. So, no loud rock ‘n’ roll concerts on Mars. Plus, while you could hear, remember, you can’t breathe there!
