[Verse 1]
The past
Doesn’t last
(Or it would be here right now)
At last
Gone past
I got over it… (somehow)

[Chorus]
(No) Never have to go back
(So) On we go
Found out love is the knack
(Oh) So glad to know

[Bridge]
The path’s been cleared ahead
(Now I’ve cleared my head)
I can hear here more naturally
(And it’s quite lovely)

[Verse 2]
The past
Didn’t last
(Or it would be here by now)
Gone past
At last
I got over it… (somehow)

[Chorus]
(No) Never have to go back
(So) On we go
Found out love is the knack
(Oh) So glad to know

[Bridge]
The path’s been cleared ahead
(Now I’ve cleared my head)
I can hear here more naturally
(And it’s quite lovely)

[Intro]
If you need to know
… stick your head out the window
(Feel the wind blow)

[Verse 1]
And it comes to pass
That the end starts
(As it starts to end)
Surprised, alas…
Beginning to end
Where the end begins
(Do we do it again?)

[Bridge]
If you need to know
… stick your head out the window
(Feel the wind blow)

[Chorus]
Moving fast
(Into the past)
Or staying present
(In the present)

[Verse 2]
Is the future encroaching
(Into your space)
Or, are your arms outstretching
(Trying to embrace)

[Bridge]
If you need to know
… stick your head out the window
(Feel the wind blow)

Moving fast
(Into the past)
Or staying present

[Verse 1]
A little too brash
(A little too fast)
Could you make mine to go
(’cause I just don’t know….)

[Chorus]
Parting company
Has gotta be our destiny
You see…
I’m sure my future
Comes true without you

[Bridge]
So, now I gotta go
(You know)
I’d say I hate to go
(But don’t wanna lie…
If I stay here I’ll die)

[Verse 2]
A little too much
(Oh, too much touch)
Could you make mine to go?
(Caught a case of the “oh no woe”)

[Chorus]
Parting company
Has gotta be our destiny
You see…
I’m sure my future
Comes true without you

But, it’s hard to explain…

[Verse 1]
Complex as it gets
Explanation regrets
Complication
… in an explanation

It’s quite clear from here
But, it’s hard to explain…
In name

[Chorus]
Sounds absurd
(When put into words)
Word command
(Hard to understand)

[Verse 2]
Are you under
A complex hex
Don’t know what it means
To be mean (the means to an End)
Comprehend?

But, it’s hard to explain…

The hours count down
The sun exits the sky
For the stars to abound

Months turning to years
More lifetimes fray
As death brings tears

So, while I’m alive
Going to strive to thrive
Live it up the utmost

A SCIENCE NOTE
The Past, Present, and Future of Climate Change
We first developed the hypothesis of the non-linear acceleration of climate change in the 1990s. By the early 2000s, this hypothesis evolved into established climate theory, now widely accepted as scientific fact. My lab partner, a Doctor of Physics from Ohio State, and I collaborated to provide crucial evidence supporting this theory. Over time, we have observed a significant shift in the doubling time of climate change impacts — the rate at which the effects intensify. Initially, the doubling time was approximately 100 years, but it has since decreased to 10 years, and more recently, to just 2 years.

This trend means that the damage caused by climate change today is double what it was two years ago, and in two more years, it could be four times worse. Unfortunately, this rapid acceleration does not appear to be an anomaly, especially given the record-breaking events we’ve witnessed this year, even during the typically cooler La Nina phase. If this trajectory continues, the outcomes will be far more catastrophic than previously expected.
