Tariffs, Coal & Deficits

LYRICS
When are we going to learn
Through the money burn
Makes you start to yearn
For the “unborn concern”
Will we ever learn
For the unborn: concern

We’re all going to die
But have to ask you why
Why would you want to try
Unborn concern
Will we ever learn
For the unborn: concern

When are we going to learn
Through the Earth we burn
Begs my heart to yearn
For the “unborn concern”
Will we ever learn
For the unborn: concern

Tariffs, coal and deficits
Will we ever get it?
Children’s children’s inherit
Our unborn concern
Will we ever learn
For the unborn: concern

ABOUT THE SONG
When questioned about my politics on US Steel…
(US Steel is to invest 750 million in the U.S.A. because of tariffs imposed on foreign steel, but doesn’t want to pay for US employees’ health benefits.)

I said:
I’m a fiscally conservative republican… and tariffs are not fiscally responsible… neither is using coal. both are bad for your health, too. it is not a matter of politics.

Charles replied:
What’s the answer to the fact that we are killed every year in tariffs? Just continue to allow ourselves to to be on receiving end of them? And intellectual theft, just continue to allow this to occur? With the advancement in clean coal technology, it is absolutely worth keeping around. Plus, China lone uses just under 50 Percent of the world’s total consumption.

I responded:
we don’t get killed every year in tariffs… one of the answers was the TPP… that required all parties to play by the same rules… no gov’t subsidies, no environmental exploitation, no human exploitation, and no tariffs. as for the theft of IP, i have more IP stolen than any other individual I know. tariffs have no effect on people stealing my copyrights, trademarks and other IP. and clean coal technology? there is no way to extract coal, nor burn it, cleanly. the saddest part… all of these are even more detrimental to our children’s children. exploitation of natural resources and budget deficits are the worst estate plan.

ps per capita the US is the largest polluter. and, China is doing quite a bit to cut it’s use. “China’s state planner pledged on Monday to cut more steel and coal production capacity this year, putting the country on track to beat its long-term targets, as Beijing reinforced its vow to beat smog and make “skies blue again””
